Prospective Students

How do I apply to Benedictine College?

Complete the online application; there is one for all International Students. Then submit all required academic documents.

How do I apply for Scholarships?

Benedictine College has a limited number of academic scholarships for international students. Scholarships are based on academic performance, standardized test scores, and English proficiency. Applicants must be accepted for admission before a scholarship can be awarded.

Are there any other Financial Aid options?

Yes, look under Costs & Scholarships at Other Aid for additional resources. We recommend you also check the Ministry of Education in your home country.

Do you have English Classes for International Students?

Yes, we have an English as a Second Language Program (ESL) for International students. Depending on the level of English, students can also take approved undergraduate courses at the same time as ESL courses. Learn more about the English as a Second Language Program

Does Benedictine College offer credit for Advanced Placement (AP) and International Baccalaureate (IB)?

Students who receive a rating of 3 to 5 on the Advanced Placement Examinations will be considered for college credit and/or advanced placement. For IB, students must score a 4 or above on the Higher Level Exam or a 5 or higher on the Standard Level Exam. Official test scores must be sent to the Office of Academic Records and Registration.

What about eating on campus?

There are 5 different dining locations on campus. All students are required to have a meal plan if living on campus.

What do students do for fun?

There are many clubs and organizations at the college. The Student Life office is always hosting an event for students on campus: concerts, athletics, student government, guest speakers, theatre productions, debates, etc…

Newly Admitted Students

How do I receive an I-20 from Benedictine College?

Once you have been admitted, you must submit bank statements showing you will have financial support for one year of academic studies at Benedictine College. You must also submit the Enrollment fee of $300 online. The Director of International Admission will mail the enrollment packet with the I-20.

Do I need a new I-20 if I will transfer from another U.S. university?

Your SEVIS record will be transferred to Benedictine College. Please complete the SEVIS Transfer Form.

How do I register for Classes?

Your academic advisor will be in contact with you for class registration. He/she will email your Benedictine College email account which is given to you in the enrollment packet.

How do I know where I am living on campus?

The student life office will notify all new students of their living arrangements on campus. Check your Benedictine College email account for housing assignments and roommate information.

Will someone pick me up at the airport?

Yes, you will need to complete the airport shuttle form. Please check the International Student Calendar for your arrival date. All students arrive at the Kansas City International Airport (MCI).

Can I ship bedding and other personal belongings to campus prior to my arrival?
